Since its establishment in 2008, the World Doctors Orchestra (WDO) has been combining the joy of music with global medical responsibility. With its worldwide benefit concert, the WDO supports medical aid projects and appeals to the public to engage and involve themselves with improving health care in developing countries.

For each performance, around a hundred of the WDO musicians – now over 1,200 medical professionals from 50 countries – regularly hang up their white coats for evening gowns and tails in order to come together to make music for people in need.
Having held 24 concert sessions so far, the WDO has brought in around €600,000, which was donated to medical benefit projects. In addition to this, the musicians taking part have indirectly contributed over €2 million by paying for their own travel and accommodation costs.
